These Chicken Fingers Will Change Your Life Forever!

Chicken fingers

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken breasts (about 3-4 pieces)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the chicken:

  • Cut the chicken breasts into strips, about 1-inch wide, or to your desired size.

2. Set up the breading stations:

  • In one shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  • In a second bowl, beat the eggs.

  • In a third shallow bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese (if using).

3. Bread the chicken:

  • Dip each chicken strip into the flour mixture, coating it evenly.

  • Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, letting any excess drip off.

  • Finally, coat the chicken strip in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs stick well.

4. Fry the chicken fingers:

  • Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat (about 350°F/175°C).

  • Once the oil is hot, add the chicken strips in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F/74°C).

  • Use tongs to transfer the cooked chicken fingers to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

5. Serve:

  • Serve your crispy chicken fingers hot with your favorite dipping sauces like honey mustard, barbecue sauce, ranch, or ketchup.

Tips:

  • You can bake the chicken fingers instead of frying them if you prefer a healthier option. To bake, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), place the breaded chicken strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken strips in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes before breading them.

Enjoy your homemade chicken fingers!
